Over the past year there have been many playgrounds and surfacing projects funded by stimulus money. Currently, Indiana is offering a grant for safety surfacing and equipment. Two-hundred $5,000 grants are available. In order to qualify for a grant, patience and attention to detail is required. Grant writing is not the simplest process, nor the fastest. Check your local government and childcare regulator for possible opportunities in your area.
Most grants come with stipulations and are highly organized with a specific set of instructions. For instance, a recycling grant may cover equipment made of recycled plastic and surfacing of recycled rubber, but not equipment consisting of mainly steel or wood surfaces. Often grants are the only feasible way an organization affords new equipment and state-of-the-art surfacing, as the price out-of-pocket is often too much for any private organization to handle without assistance. Major corporations and private donors also fund many playground projects.
AAA State of Play is set up specifically to assist with businesses and organizations in the process of applying for grants. Simply contact a sales associate or add products to the online cart and checkout. A sales associate will email a written quote within 24 hours. If you require the quote be valid for an extended period of time please let a sales associate know and they will try to comply.
