Route 66 Park

This original park sits on the shores of Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City. It contains a seating area, walking trails, a skatepark and of course, a playground. The Preserve is home to several different types of animals, including buffalo, elk, and longhorn cattle. Along with the grounds of the preserve itself, the property also has a museum for native American artifacts, as well as a collection of Colt firearms. The Wildlife Preserve is teeming with animals, and can be observed all across the complex.

Bentley Park

Bentley Park in Bixby, Oklahoma is a large complex full of sporting facilities, a splash park, walking trails and an elaborate and thrilling playground. The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum

This museum is located in Oklahoma City, and features a large collection of cultural and historical artifacts, as well as works by various artists such as Charles M. Russell. The museum also includes an interactive model town, which serves as a depiction of life in the Wild West as it was in the early 20th century. Additionally, the museum has a restaurant and a museum store that sells souvenirs, gifts, and Western apparel.

Beavers Bend State Resort Park

Located near Broken Bow, this state park is one of the most popular of its kind in Oklahoma. The park encompasses both Beavers Bend and Hochatown State Parks, as well as Cedar Creek Golf Course and the Lakeview Lodge. The park also features a nature center, which hosts daily activities and programs for visitors of all ages. Other park activities include eagle watching, trail hiking, horseback trail riding, and hayrides through the park.

Tucker Tower

This unique building is located on the grounds of Lake Murray State Park. It was initially intended for the state of Oklahoma’s governors as a sort of getaway spot, but it was never actually used this way. Instead, the structure most recently housed the Lake Murray State Park Nature Center. Today, Tucker Tower is traversable by tourists, and features a patio and access to the top of the tower.

Oklahoma Museum of Art

Situated in the heart of Oklahoma City, the OMA houses one of the most impressive collections of Chihuly glass art in the world, and also features a 55-foot memorial in the atrium dedicated to Oklahoma artist Eleanor Blake Kirkpatrick. Additionally, the museum’s theater has a weekly, rotating collection of classic, independent, and foreign films. The museum offers guided and self-paced tours, and also features a full-service restaurant that’s attached to the museum.
